West Yorkshire Spinners Yarn

Situated in the original home of the British Worsted Spinning industry, West Yorkshire Spinners combine state-of-the-art technology with generations of expertise and unrivalled know-how to produce British hand knitting yarns. When the company was founded in 1997, research highlighted that natural fibres were falling out of favour, giving way to synthetic, man-made alternatives. By harnessing the region's rich history of textile manufacturing, the company saw a gap in the market for more natural and sustainable yarn products.

West Yorkshire Spinners has since built a strong reputation for high-quality yarns. By 2012, launched its own yarn – Fleece 100% Bluefaced Leicester – to help champion British wool and its fascinating heritage.

The family-run business sources all its own wool which is then produced into knitting yarn in its factory based in West Yorkshire. This reduces the carbon footprint of West Yorkshire Spinners yarn and enables them to create amazing yarns at low cost. Their prices reflect these factors passing on the savings to customers.
