What is Cashmere knitting wool?
Cashmere is a fibre obtained from the cashmere goat. Although common usage defines the fibre as wool it is in fact hair. This is what gives it its unique characteristics as compared to sheep wool. The rough hair taken from the goat is subjected to a long process of hand selection, washing and combing. The result is a raw cashmere fibre that is free from coarse hair, oil and other natural content. The fineness of the fibre gives cashmere its trademark silky texture. Cashmere wool is supremely light, soft and warm.
