Lace Knitting Patterns

Lace knitting patterns or 2 ply knitting patterns create the loveliest light and flowing garments and accessories, such as shawls. Not just for the most experienced, these patterns guide knitters of every level through the process to product beautiful items. And they're not just intricate lace patterns - we also include 'plain' garments that are worked in stocking stitch - the designers simply want the characteristics of 2 ply yarn to infuse their designs.

Speaking of designers, our collection of  lace/2 ply patterns have been designed by your favourites, such as RowanDROPS and Manos del Uruguay. We also offer an array of formats: leaflets, soft cover books and pdf downloads.

Our unique viewing option allows you to check out all the designs contained within a book - we don't simply show you the front cover. Furthermore, for your convenience, we also provide yarn quantities and needle specifications for each size of each pattern so you can have everything you need to get started.

And if you need any help or clarification on your lace yarn or pattern, feel free to get in touch either by telephone or email - we're here to help!

Inspiring lace patterns

It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking knitting and crochet is just for the autumn and winter months. Our collection of lace and 2 ply patterns demonstrates you can keep your yarn craft up and running all year round with distinctive, lighter spring and summer clothes which are easily layered with opaque pieces giving you hundreds of ideas for stylish and classy outfits.

Go wild an choose your own shade - there's no need to stick to the shade or colour combination specified in the pattern ... although we do recommend using the specified yarn where possible! Choosing an alternative shade not only plugs any holes or gaps in your wardrobe, it also makes your creation more individual.

If you're new to working with lace and 2 ply yarn, try a smaller project first or one that is predominantly worked in simple stitches such as garter and stocking. Lace patterns are satisfying to work - watching the designs take form after each row is a little bit addictive!
