Have you been looking for a Debbie Bliss Cashmerino yarn substitute to add to your stash or make your baby knits? We have some excellent candidates!
Feeling like something is missing from your stash? Many of our customers have sent us emails asking where they can find a suitable substitution for Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino now that it's no longer widely available. So this year when we went to decide on new yarns to stock on our shelves, we took your concerns for the perfect baby yarn with us. Here are some of our favourite options:
Rowan Baby Cashsoft Merino
This gorgeous yarn has an identical fibre composition to Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, and it knits to an identical tension. We love it because it's a near perfect substitute, and it's available in a wide selection of shades that includes traditional baby pastels as well as bright, bold shades.
This fabulous baby yarn has a crisp stitch definition, and it's machine washable, too - just what every new parent needs! It's super soft and designed with babies in mind, and a must-have for your yarn stash for last minute baby knits.
Rico Baby Cotton Soft DK
This yarn is new to the Laughing Hens shelves but has been on the market for awhile as one of the premiere baby yarns available. A blend of machine washable cotton and acrylic, this yarn is perfect for babies with wool allergies or skin sensitivities that require plant based fibres.
Like the Rowan Cashsoft yarn, this DK weight yarn also boasts a wide range of shades from baby pastels to bold primary colours and also a selection of marled shades like the blue above. In addition to it being a great substitute for Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, this yarn also features tons of patterns, which we also now feature here on the Laughing Hens website.
